Monochromatic Statement

I’m obsessed with neutrals and textures. This home was stuck in the dark browns and had a very traditional style about it. Dark espresso floors, iron rod chandeliers and pendants, heavy tan color walls made the home feel tired. With such a fantastic layout, I immediately knew what needed to be done. We changed the floors to a lighter French white oak, painted the walls to a light modern day grey and brightened up the trim around the home to a natural white. What a difference it was already making. In the kitchen we changed the countertops to a statuary marble that had distinct artistic veins, opened up some shelving to showcase gorgeous reclaimed wood, and added white subway backsplash to finish off the rustic look. Something was missing, a statement piece, so we found some beautiful mosaic tile that pulled all the greys and whites together perfectly! We put it on the fireplace and right behind the stovetop to tie it together. Shiplap, subway tile, reclaimed wood, mosaic tile was installed in different parts throughout the bathrooms in various forms so you can see the harmony and yet they each had their own distinct look. This home became the calming sanctuary it was always meant to be, a place called home.
